How Using Organic Cotton and Repreve Fabric Impacts Our Supply Chain:

Using natural and sustainable products is one of our top priorities here at OLEA, and using organic products helps the environment and allows for higher quality products. Organic cotton has a natural SPF 15, which gives sun protection for long days on the course. This fabric avoids chemicals, and there are less petrochemicals, which are harmful when touching skin. The crop uses 20% less water than other inorganic products, causing less harm to natural resources. Farmers also benefit from this product, as they have better lives and are exposed to significantly less chemicals and create more profits from their crops.

The OEKO-TEX certification is a part of the process of having confidence that there are no harmful substances in clothing. If a textile article has a STANDARD 100 label, this means that it has been tested for and does not have any harmful chemicals in it. OEKO-TEX performs this test and evaluates a multitude of substances that have the ability to be harmful to human health. This test goes above and beyond regulations and is updated at least once a year to stay up to date with new requirements or scientific discoveries.
